The 2026 Homestead Exemption application window closes soon. Apply by Wednesday, April 1, to ensure your exemption goes into effect for your 2026 property tax bill. Visit the CobbTax.gov web page to learn more and submit your application today.

SPLOST jobs on the table

Cobb County Government invites current and potential vendors to the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Vendor Forum 3:30 - 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Cobb Civic Center. This event highlights upcoming county projects and initiatives, providing vendors with insight into future opportunities across Cobb County. Attendees must register by Tuesday, March 31.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with county leaders, project managers, and department representatives while learning about planned investments and procurement processes. The Civic Center is located at 548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta

SPLOST is a one-percent sales tax that has been in place for decades, helping to fund major capital projects such as courthouses, community centers, parks, libraries, and large-scale transportation improvements.

County offices closed for upcoming holiday

All Cobb County Government offices will be closed Friday, April 3, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. We hope you enjoy a fun and safe weekend with your family, friends and loved ones.

All Cobb County public libraries are closed Sunday, April 5, in observance of the Easter holiday. Outdoor park areas will be open. 

Many government services are available 24 hours a day on the Cobb County website.

Creativity, activities and fun will be blooming big at Cobb County PARKS Spring Break camps during the coming month. These include:
  • April 6 - 9 – Artology Camp at The Art Station in Kennesaw.
  • April 6 - 9 – Camp Comics! at The Art Station in Kennesaw.
  • April 6 - 10 – Unlimited Gymnastics Camp at the Cobb County Gymnastics Center in Marietta. 
  • April 6 - 10 – Spring Break TV Production Camp at the Milford Recreation Center in Marietta
  • April 6 - 10 – Spring Break Camp at Fullers Recreation Center in Marietta
  • April 6 - 10 – Hometown Heroes Break Camp at Ward Recreation Center in Powder Springs.
  • April 6 - 10 – Mixed Media Art Camp: Create, Collage and Construct! at the Art Place Marietta.
  • April 6 - 10 – Moana Musical Theater Spring Break Camp at the Mable House Arts Center.

Creative kids needed to help Make-A-Wish

Cobb invites elementary school-aged children to submit their artwork for the Cobb County 5K race t-shirt contest and support Make-A-Wish Georgia. Submissions must be an 8.5-inch by 11-inch crayon drawing and should represent the theme of Dream Chaser.

Proceeds from the event are donated to Make-A-Wish Georgia to grant wishes for Cobb County children with life-threatening medical conditions. All artwork is due by Friday, April 3.

Voters deciding congressional runoff

Advance voting is available through Thursday, April 2, in the special election runoff for U.S. House of Representatives District 14. Republican Clay Fuller and Democrat Shawn Harris face each other in the Tuesday, April 7, runoff to replace former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Only registered voters in District 14 can cast a ballot in the runoff. Advance voting is taking place at four locations listed on the Elections and Voter Registration page. There is no voting April 3 - 6. Those who wait to vote on the April 7 election day must go to their assigned polling places.

Forum to celebrate and educate

Keep Cobb Beautiful will hold its annual Sustainability Forum and Expo 3:30 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Jim Miller Park in Marietta. This event brings together sustainability-focused organizations and businesses within Cobb County with members of the public for hands-on learning opportunities, demos, and education.

The expo portion of the event will run 3:30 - 6 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony recognizing individuals and groups that have made contributions to Cobb County's sustainable future in 2025. 

Guests will enjoy live music, refreshments, and lively discussions with Cobb County's leaders in sustainability.

The place to take your spring cleaning debris

Keep Cobb Beautiful will hold its next Community Recycling Event 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta.

Bring your electronics, metals, textiles, sneakers, paper for secure shredding, orange Hefty ReNew bags, and more. Crews and volunteers will direct residents through the lot and will help unload recyclables.

Help your garden grow at expo

Find your new favorite greenery during the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County annual Plant Sale and Expo 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. April 17 - 18 at the Jim R. Miller Park Covered Arena in Marietta.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting your plant journey, there’s something for everyone. There will be homegrown plants, garden-adjacent gifts, locally-sourced honey, herbs, sauces, bird accessories, wood and glass crafts, yard art and more.

Arts and entertainment at spring festival

The free Spring Arts Festival will pop back up 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Jim R. Miller Park Event Center in Marietta. Visitors will be able to view and purchase spring-themed handmade goods, artwork, play at interactive art experiences, get a bite from food trucks, and watch performances.

Putting together the pieces

Camp Puzzle is a free event centered on providing kids and young adults on the autism spectrum the opportunity to experience the different roles of Public Safety. The event will be held 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18,  at the Cobb County Safety Village in Marietta.

There will be fire trucks, police cars, games, crafts, and much more. Most activities will be outside, except lunch (hot dogs, chips, fruit, bottled water) will be served inside our Education Building. The Cobb County Safety Village is located at 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta. Only ADA service dogs are allowed.

New options for courthouse weddings

Planning to tie the knot at the courthouse? Cobb still has free group wedding ceremonies, but now with more options:
  • Free wedding ceremonies all week, 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday.
  • More time options on weekends and holidays, Friday - Sunday, plus holidays at noon and 6 p.m.
  • Same-day marriage licenses available, just arrive by 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Make certain you bring the right paperwork. You must now get your marriage license from the Cobb County Probate Court. Licenses from other counties won’t be accepted.
