Truist Park, home of the Braves, will host the 2025 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15. The All-Star Game events will be spread around Truist Park, the Battery Atlanta, and the Galleria Centre. Lane closures and detours will impact roads around the Battery complex and the Galleria. This summer's final Family Fun Safety Day will take place 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at the Cobb County Safety Village in Marietta. Kids can climb up into a fire truck, explore emergency vehicles, hop inside a squad car, ring the firetruck bell, watch a puppet show and learn about how to stay safe in the home.

The Cobb Library Foundation Mini Golf Fundraiser in support of the county Summer Reading Program is returning. Enjoy a 19-hole mini golf course inside the library 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 - 10 at three Cobb Library locations:

Free entertainment at The Art Place
Pack your picnic baskets and bring blankets for evenings of free entertainment on the lawn during Scene on the Green at The Art Place in Marietta. Gates open at 6 p.m., giving families time to settle in and socialize before performances begin at 7 p.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, with lawn and grass seating available, along with a limited number of bistro tables and chairs.

Building excitement in Mableton
Get ready for a tribute to Queen with the band Champions at Wine Down Wednesday, July 9, at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre. This concert, which starts at 7 p.m. will include classic hits such as "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love", and "We Will Rock You". You can listen for free on the lawn terrace or get a $20 table seat. Go here for tickets.

Litter survey and recycling events this month
Assist in keeping Cobb litter-free. Find trash on a ride around with Keep Cobb Beautiful for the Litter Index Survey. This helps identify what areas need beautification. Join in 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday, July 11 at Jim R. Miller Event Center, 2245 Callaway Road SW, Marietta. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
There will be a Keep Cobb Beautiful Pop-up, Drop-off Recycling event at the Cobb Civic Center, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19. Bring your glass jars, cans and cardboard plus hard to recycle items like take-out boxes, pickleballs, bubble wrap and more.
Recycle your broken pickleballs, wrappers, foam to-go boxes, snack bags and more. If you're serious about recycling, get some Hefty Renew Bags (orange) and fill them up with the stuff that is super hard to recycle. (Bags available at many large retailers.)

Join the Cobb County Sheriff's Office Citizen’s Academy 6:30 - 9 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 14 - Sept. 18, to learn about its duties, structure, and daily operations. Those interested must apply by Aug. 8. The eligibility requirements include being at least 18 years of age and out of high school, possessing a valid government ID and attending at least five out of six of the classes.
